“HIS MERCIES NEVER COME TO AN END; THEY ARE NEW EVERY MORNING.”
— Lamentations 3:22-23
A match is struck in the midst of the darkness. Lightning cracks through the pitch black. A crescent of light shines after a long night. His mercies never come to an end.
Could it be? Because every party winds down. Every feast wraps up. Every holiday finishes. Good things end. His mercies never come to an end.
The river of God’s goodness keeps flowing. His fire towards those in distress keeps burning. His gift to those in misery keeps giving. His mercies never come to an end.
No matter how many times you’ve needed it, there’s more. No matter how much you don’t deserve it, there’s still more. No matter what you’ve already received, he’s still giving. His mercies never come to an end.
From generation to generation, God never runs out of mercy. He’s inexhaustible, infinite, and unlimited. His mercies never come to an end.
If yesterday was terrible. If last night was unbearable. If it all feels incomparable. His mercies never come to an end.
New like the refresh button. New like it’s the first time. New like there’s no prior balance. They are new every morning.
God offers us more than we can comprehend. He is more willing to give than we are to receive. God lavishes us with his limitless help. They are new every morning.
Mercy free and abundant. Mercy full and overflowing. Mercy above and beyond reason. They are new every morning.
God’s mercy cannot be measured, but you can count on it every morning.
When you go to bed with a problem, it meets you with a fresh start. When you don’t know the answer, it will come for you in the new day. When your strength fades at dusk, it will rise at dawn. They are new every morning.
Not just some mornings, every morning. Not only when you’ve been faithful and strong, but especially when you are needy and weak. They are new every morning.
Count on it. Live by it. Bank on it. God has spoken it, promised it, and shown it. Jesus died for it, paid for it, rose for it. They are new every morning.
Praise the God whose is merciful. Rely upon the One whose mercies never end. Expect Him to be who he’s always been again today. Every morning is still in effect.
